Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all used to counter wrinkles. They are a purified form of botulinum toxin A, meaning there is no botulism risk when used properly. They work by blocking the nerves that contract muscles, softening the appearance of wrinkles.
Any of these neuromodulators are most effective on wrinkles that haven’t quite set — “dynamic” wrinkles that appear while you’re moving your face, such as when you frown. If you don’t move the muscle too much, you won’t form the wrinkle, so in essence stopping the aging process in its tracks!
Juvederm is a family of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to provide 9 - 12 months of correction for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth). It is also used for lip augmentation.
The Juvederm range of products is designed to meet specific needs depending on the area of the face being treated and the increase in volume required. Juvederm Voluma® XC is used for the cheek area to give a subtle lift that increases volume and contour.
Revanesse Versa is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is found within the body. This dermal filler is versatile and can be utilized to soften the appearance of facial wrinkles or increase lip volume.
In a recent study, Revanesse Versa was shown to produce 24% less swelling than another popular (HA) dermal filler. Our lower rate of swelling means that patients are able to get back to their lives almost immediately after treatment.
Restylane is the trade name for a range of injectable fillers with a specific composition of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid (HA). In the United States, Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid filler to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cosmetic injection into subdermal facial tissue.
Restylane is most commonly used for lip enhancement (volume and contouring) and for diminishing wrinkles and aging lines of the face such as the nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), melomental folds (sad mouth corners), "crow’s feet," and forehead wrinkles (frown lines). It may also be used for filling aging-related facial hollows and "orbital troughs" (under and around the eyes), as well as for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead, and nose.
Radiesse is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. It is injected through a small needle to immediately add volume under the skin. Over time, the benefits of Radiesse continue by stimulating your body’s own natural collagen production.
Sculptra® (marketed as New-Fill™ in many countries) is a poly-L-lactic-acid-based injectable dermal filler. Sculptra® is very effective when used as a treatment for wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It can also be used to improve facial volume and treat lipoatrophy, which is the facial wasting, or loss of facial fat, most often associated with HIV and AIDS.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy rejuvenates the skin through the injection of your own blood plasma under the dermis, stimulating cell growth and collagen production. It improves skin complexion and texture, and restores lost facial volume. Micro-needling is incorporated during this treatment process as well.
Sclerotherapy is the injection of a chemical irritant into a vein to sclerose (harden) it. The chemical irritates the lining of the vein, causing it to swell and clot. The vein then turns into scar tissue that fades from view. Blood flow shifts to nearby healthy blood vessels. Sclerotherapy may be done to treat varicose veins, reticular grey veins, spider veins, and broken capillaries on the face (telangiectasia).
